About CALI

CALI® is The Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction, a 501(c)(3) non-profit consortium of most US law schools.  CALI was incorporated in 1982 by its founders at Harvard Law School and the University of Minnesota School of Law.

CALI works in the area of computer-assisted instruction and has been publishing tutorials for law students since the late 1970’s. As of this writing (2022), CALI offers over 1200 interactive tutorials that are used by tens of thousands of law students each year.

CALI also publishes free law school books and casebooks at elangdell.cali.org.

CALI is the developer of A2J Author® (www.a2jauthor.org) which is used by legal aid programs, courts and law schools to automate court forms for self-representing litigants.

CALI is the sponsor of the CALI Excellence for the Future Award® which is awarded to the students who receives the highest grade in a course as determined by their instructor. Over 130 law schools participate in this program.
